Many of us have at one time or another had goals we wanted to achieve but unfortunately most of us don’t achieve them. Of course the leadership Guru’s preach you must have goals because if you don’t have a destination you won’t get there. They are right but unfortunately only partly right.

The reason most people don’t accomplish their goals is because their goals are not who they are. Let me explain. If you were an Olympic runner how would you ‘be’ or live your life? You would ‘be’ a person who trained many hours per day, had a very disciplined workout regiment and breathed and slept Olympic running. Your passion would be that of an Olympic runner.

Well along with the phenomenal success of the Secret and its skyrocketing sales spreading around the globe we of course are now getting the detractors. Last night on Larry King several of the Secret teachers from the movie were back to talk about the Law of Attraction. Included with the guests were some of the naysayer’s as well.

One naysayer went so far as to say that the Secret could be harmful and there is no proof that it works. This is a common theme that the naysayer’s bring up about the Secret, that there is no scientific evidence it works.

I have been a entrepreneur since I was 12 years old and have been running my current business for over 30 years. Article writing was not a big part of my day to day activities until I decided to help some other businesses with the information that has made my businesses successful.

I have to admit that I was a little reluctant and intimidated by the many good article writers I read on a daily basis but I have to tell you that you can not let that stop you. You might be thinking, “Certainly he doesn’t mean everyone.” Oh, yes I do. Even the most disgruntled customers can be converted to adoring fans when you employ this secret genuinely and consistently.

You know how all of the gurus tell you success is easy? Well, failure is easy too. In fact, it’s easier. It’s so easy in fact, that people do it every day, every minute, and every second. In setting goals, the surefire way to fail every time is to follow these five easy steps:

1. Lack Conviction
Goal setting without absolute conviction that you can attain the goals you set is never successful. When you begin any endeavor with even a small measure of disbelief, you are sabotaging your goal before you begin.

A friend of mine worked on the security team for the recent visit by the Dali Lama to Canada. The Dali Lama personally met with each person in attendance. My friend said the energy vibrating from this man was truly amazing.

The Dali Lama also gave everyone a prayer scarf and also a small book of information that he personally autographed for each person. I quickly read the small book when it was shown to me at a house party. There was a question in the book that asked:

Q. What is the purpose of life?
A. To be happy!

So many so called financial Gurus tell you to get yourself on a budget if you are struggling financially. I haven’t taken an actual statistical count but it is probably better than 99% of these guys dole out the advice that you need a financial budget.

What seems odd to me is that most people by the time they retire need financial assistance to support themselves. This would indicate to me that personal budgets or even household budgets don’t work.

Most people look at me funny when I tell them I haven’t had a job in over thirty years. I understand; who wouldn’t think thirty years is way too long for unemployment? Me, that’s who. Me and every successful business owner on the planet.

In fact, I really only had one job in my life, and that was for about one year during my teens. I realized early on that my job, and any job for that matter, was not going to get me where I wanted to go. A job could never give me the income, freedom, and control over my own life that I knew I couldn’t live without.

Consciousness level is always going to be a determining factor on how much money you make as a business owner. Your consciousness is your level of awareness and your level of awareness will determine how much money you will make in your business.

There are many examples of how a higher conscious level will bring in more money to your business but let me just give you a few simple examples of how it can work in my industry. I am in the fire and flood restoration industry and we also do painting and carpet cleaning for residential home owners.
